1 Dead, More Displaced Following North Jersey House Fire

Red Cross New Jersey was on the scene, assisting six people who were displaced by the blaze.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A house fire in Paterson has left one man dead and six others displaced.

On Thursday, around 6:15 p.m., Paterson first responders were called to 454 East 31st Street on a report of a residential fire.

After the fire was extinguished, authorities found a 51-year-old Paterson man inside the building. He was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials have not released the identity of the man at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to authorities.
