16-Year-Old Killed In Passaic County Shooting

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County teen is dead following a shooting in Paterson, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Wednesday night, around 10:30 p.m., Paterson police responded to reports of gunfire near North 10th Street and Clinton Street.

Officers soon found a gunshot victim, 16, on North 8th Street. He was immediately rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

The boy was pronounced dead at the hospital that night.

Officials said that the investigation is ongoing, and have not announced any shooting suspects at this time.

More information will be released as it becomes available, authorities said.

This is the fifth shooting reported in Paterson by the prosecutor’s office this month, the third shooting involving a teen.
