2 Dead, More Injured In Wrong-Way Crash In Passaic County
A two-year-old child involved in the crash sustained moderate injuries, police said.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Two people are dead and more are injured, including a child, in a wrong-way crash that took place on a major highway in Passaic County, police said.
On Monday morning, around 2 a.m., police responded to a head-on crash on I-80 West near milepost 54.1 in Totowa Borough.
An investigation found that a sedan, driven by Albin Fermin, 30, of Newark, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-80.

Fermin’s sedan then slammed into a Buick SUV carrying driver Joanne Furman, 60, and passengers Imani Alexis Furman, 24, and a two-year-old child, all from Norwich, Connecticut, police said.
Both Fermin and Imani Alexis Furman were killed as a result of the crash, police said.

Both Joanne Furman and the two-year-old sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The fatal crash is under investigation, according to state police.
