Abandoned Dog Found Outside North Jersey Church, Police Seek Owners
The dog did not have a collar and was not neutered, police said. Officers are searching for the people who abandoned him.

LITTLE FALLS, NJ — An abandoned dog was found on the property of a North Jersey church and police are seeking the owners, who may face a fine.
The male pit bull mix was discovered on the property of St. George's Church in Little Falls this week and was not wearing a collar, said police. Officials suspect the owner abandoned the dog between 3 p.m. on Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police said that the dog seems to be in good health, now that he is resting and getting care at the Clifton Animal Shelter.

The dog is not microchipped or neutered, officials said. He is described as between one and two years old, and all black except for some white markings on his chest.
In New Jersey, anyone who abandons a domestic animal may be found guilty of a disorderly persons offense, and pay up to $1,000.

Officers are asking anyone who may know the owners, or has information about the dog being abandoned, to call Little Falls Police Headquarters at 973-256-0200.
