'Bad Employers' List Includes 3 Companies In Passaic County

The businesses are on a state list for failing to pay wages, benefits, and taxes and are prohibited from getting public contracts.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Three Passaic County businesses owe the state or their employees money for failing to pay wages, benefits and taxes and are prohibited from receiving public contracts, the Department of Labor said.

As of Feb. 5, a total of 120 businesses were listed on the Department of Labor's Workplace Accountability in Labor List, or WALL. The WALL is updated monthly and businesses on the list currently owe a combined $13.5 million in liabilities for violations of wage, benefit or tax laws.

The state passed legislation creating the WALL in 2020, and it went live in Sept. 2023. Businesses on the list are not able to engage in any contracts with the state, including state agencies, counties, and local government bodies.
