Driver Dies After Losing Control Of Vehicle On GSP In Passaic Co: NJSP

A 65-year-old North Jersey man died after losing control of his SUV on the Garden State Parkway last week, said state police.

CLIFTON, NJ — State police said a North Jersey man died after losing control of his vehicle on the Garden State Parkway and striking a guardrail in Clifton late last week.

According to police, 65-year-old James Hallaway of Saddle River was driving southbound on Thursday, when he lost control of the Lexus SUV he was driving just before 6 p.m.

Police said Hallaway's vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, near mile post 155.4 in Clifton City. First responders transported the driver to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Troopers said the accident remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available as of Monday morning.
