WAYNE, NJ — National Farmers Market Week is from Aug. 4-10, so it's a perfect opportunity (if you needed another reason) to stop by the Wayne Summer Farmers Market this weekend.

It looks like the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby will be out of the area by Saturday morning, and organizers said the market will take place as scheduled.

Early August is the peak season for some "Jersey Fresh" favorites, as the New Jersey Department of Agriculture noted — including tomatoes, sweet corn, and peaches. There are approximately 140 community farmers markets and 700 independent farmers markets in the state, according to the department.
