WAYNE, NJ —The U.S. Census Bureau recently disclosed a mountain of data, including how much household income is reported in each New Jersey community.
The 2013-2017 American Community Survey issued by the bureau last week disclosed a mountain of data, including how much household income is reported in each New Jersey community.
Cost of living aside, Wayne is way better off than much of the country. The township median household income is $108,092, good for 142nd in New Jersey and second in Passaic County behind Ringwood. The statewide median household income is $76,475, far surpassing the nationwide median of $57,652.

Two Passaic County towns, Passaic and Paterson, ranked in the bottom 10 in the state.
Millburn topped the list with a median household income of $202,862. Here are the top 20 communities.

Salem had the lowest median household income at $25,171. Atlantic City, otherwise known as "America's Playground," had the second-lowest median household income at $26,006.
