Man, 33, Killed In Sunday Morning Shooting: Passaic Prosecutor

PASSAIC, NJ — A 33-year-old man died after being shot in the chest in Passaic early Sunday morning, officials said.

Passaic Police officers arrived to an address in the 200 block of 6th Street at around 3:25 a.m. on Aug. 11 after a report of shots fired, according to Chief Luis Guzman and Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

Police found the man, a Passaic resident, with a gunshot wound to his chest and arranged for him to be taken to St. Mary's Hospital, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
"This investigation is active and ongoing," officials said in a statement. "More information will be released when it becomes available."
