Wayne Mayor Christopher Vergano swore in nine police officers who were promoted during a New Year’s ceremony.

The Mayor swore in a new police chief, a captain, three lieutenants and four sergeants, NorthJersey.com reported.

Police Chief James Clarke replaced John Reardon as Chief, while Keith O’Sullivan took Clarke’s captain position, according to NorthJersey.com. Jack McNiff, Daniel Daly and Andrew Verdon were promoted to lieutenant, and Kevin Kearney, Michael McNiff, Robert Franco and James Clark were promoted to sergeants.
