NJ Driver Dies In Crash That Overturned Dump Truck On I-80: Police
State police said a North Jersey man lost control of his car early Friday, and hit a guardrail before colliding with the dump truck.
NORTH JERSEY — State police said a Paterson man died early Friday morning after losing control of his car on Route 80 and crashing into a dump truck, which then overturned.
Troopers responded to the crash scene on the eastbound side of the highway, at milepost 49.6 in Fairfield Township, at about 2:45 a.m. on April 12.
According to officials' initial investigation, both the Kenworth dump truck and a Mazda passenger vehicle were headed east on I-80 when the Mazda driver suddenly lost control.

Police said the car ran off the roadway to the right and hit the guardrail, then veered back onto the highway and into the truck's path. The collision caused the dump truck to turn over, said a state police spokesperson.
Authorities said the Mazda driver, identified as 43-year-old Sixto Torres-Duran, sustained fatal injuries. The dump truck driver had minor injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital.

State police are continuing to investigate the crash, and did not release further information as of Friday afternoon.
All lanes of the roadway were closed for a brief period Friday morning, and one lane was still closed as of 7:45 a.m., per 511nj.org.
