NJ Suspect Found In Florida 2 Years After Fatal Shooting, Cops Say
The man has been extradited back to New Jersey, officials said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A North Jersey man has been arrested for his involvement in a 2023 shooting that left one person dead, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Joshua Perez, 38, from Paterson, was taken into custody last week after an investigation placed him as the triggerman for a killing from nearly two years ago, police said.
On November 10, 2023, at around 12:45 a.m., Paterson police were called to the area of Park Avenue and Straight Street on reports of a shooting.

Officers found a 33-year-old Paterson man with a gunshot wound and rushed him to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead.
An investigation led police to Perez, who was later found in Florida.

Perez was extradited back to New Jersey on Sept. 2. He is currently in custody awaiting court proceedings.
Perez is charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He faces life in prison if convicted of the first-degree murder charge alone.
