Paterson Man Dies In Police-Involved Shooting Friday: AG
The daytime shooting took place is not connected to the shooting that left a NJ state trooper hospitalized this week, authorities said.
PATERSON, NJ - A Paterson resident died in a police-involved shooting Friday afternoon in the city, authorities said.
The shooting took place at around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Mill and Ellison streets in Paterson, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said in a statement.
The civilian was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the shooting victim was not immediately released by state officials.

The shooting is not related to any other police-involved incidents that occurred in Paterson earlier in the week, including one shooting that left a New Jersey state trooper hospitalized Thursday morning, the attorney general’s office said. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability opens an investigation anytime a fatal police-involved shooting is reported.
