WAYNE, NJ — Wayne-area shoppers will have a brand new JCPenney store in just a few weeks.

As Patch reported previously, the department store will leave the Towne Center — where it has operated for almost 50 years — to occupy the two-floor anchor spot at Willowbrook where Lord & Taylor used to be.

The Towne Center location will close March 10.

Shoppers won't have to wait long, though. Signage is up for the interior and exterior entrances at Willowbrook, and the new store will be open March 15.

And, there is a grand opening celebration Friday, April 5 beginning at 10 a.m. The store will be giving away gift cards valued at up to $100 to its first 100 customers, and also giving away some things in-store, while supplies last.
