Shopper Punched Man He Saw Filming Him In JCPenney Bathroom: Wayne PD
The man told officers he dropped his vape and accidentally turned on his camera while reaching down; he faces an invasion of privacy charge.

WAYNE, NJ — Police arrested a Tinton Falls resident on invasion of privacy charges for reportedly filming another man in the Wayne JCPenney bathroom.
Officers were called to the store on the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 10. The caller told police he was in a bathroom stall when someone "reached under the front door of the stall with a cell phone."
The man could "clearly see" that the screen was activated and facing him while recording, said Detective Captain Dan Daly in a news release. He made a noise, and the other person moved the phone away. But, the man said the phone then reappeared from under the stall next to his.

At this point, the man came out of the stall and confronted the suspect, whom police identified as Richard Jones-Johnson, 35, of Tinton Falls. According to Daly, the victim struck Jones-Johnson and asked him to delete the video, which he did after apologizing.
When questioned, Jones-Johnson told officers that he had dropped his vape and accidentally turned on his phone camera while he was reaching for it, Daly said.
