'Point In Time': Volunteers Needed For Homeless Outreach In Passaic County

Volunteers will connect with people in need, and gather information to help local organizations improve resources and services.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Passaic County is seeking helping hands to support a yearly outreach effort for homeless neighbors.

The "Point in Time Count" will take place on Jan. 29, and provides a one-day snapshot of the number of people and families experiencing homelessness in the county. Volunteers will connect with people in need, and gather information to help local organizations improve resources and services.

The county is collaborating with St. Paul's Community Development Corporation, Eva's Village, Heart of Hannah, Monarch Housing Associates, and other nearby groups.

“This initiative is essential to understanding the challenges faced by our most vulnerable residents,” said Commissioner Orlando Cruz in a statement. “Volunteering for the Point-In-Time Count is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in addressing homelessness and helping us build a stronger, more compassionate community.”
