Wayne Resident Helps Tufts University Win NCAA Division 3 National Championship

Tyler Kulcsar was the Wayne Hills Soccer captain in 2013. He has since played 15 games as a freshman at Tufts University.

Tyler Kulcsar, Wayne resident and current Freshman at Tufts University, has much to celebrate.

Kulcsar is part of the Tufts University Soccer Team, which recently won the NCAA Division 3 National Championship in Kansas City, MO, in Swope Soccer Village on Dec. 6 by beating Wheaton College (ILL) 4-2.

A Freshman, Kulcsar played 15 games on the team this year, which also received recognition from ESPN network after the big win.

Tufts reached the NCAA Final Four after a victory over the previously unbeaten Messiah College, which won 10 of the last 12 Championships.

But that’s not all.

Tufts also shut out Ohio Wesleyan to reach the final and made history, as it was the program’s first title.

Kulcsar was the Wayne Hills Soccer captain last year under the coaching staff of Nelson Graham. Hills won the county title in 2013, which had not been won previously since 1992.
