Wayne Woman Found In NY After Going Missing From Passaic Co. Park: PD

Parts of the park were closed as officials searched for the missing woman.

WAYNE, NJ — Officials said they have safely located a Wayne woman who was reported missing after a hike on Sunday.

The 60-year-old reportedly went to Ringwood State Park around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, and her family reported her missing that evening.

The woman was located in Sloatsburg, N.Y. around 1:30 p.m. Monday, per a statement from State Parks Police. First responders transported her to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y., for observation.

Officials thanked members of the public who sent in tips about her location.

New Jersey State Park Police spearheaded the effort to find the woman, officials said. Other agencies responding included: The Ringwood Police Department, New Jersey Search and Rescue, Passaic County Sheriff, New Jersey Department of Corrections, Catskill Mountain Search and Rescue, Community Search and Rescue, Specialty K9 Search and Rescue, Mid Atlantic Regional Search and Rescue, Search and Rescue Team Warren County, and the Ramapo (N.Y.) Police Department.
