1 Dead In Route 548 Crash In South Jersey, Police Say

MAURICE RIVER, NJ - A Vineland man died in a Saturday evening single-vehicle crash on Route 548, state police said.

The crash occurred at around 3:54 a.m. on County Route 548 (Weatherby Road) westbound in the area of milepost 1.2 in Maurice River Township, a spokesperson from the New Jersey State Police told Patch.

An initial investigation found that a Nissan Maxima was traveling on the highway when it ran off the road to the right, ran back across the road to the left and struck a tree, the spokesperson said.

The driver of the Nissan, Dillon Nash, 29, of Vineland, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
