15 West Deptford Runners Complete Philly Marathon, Half

West Deptford runners from age 16 to 55 ran through the streets of Philadelphia Sunday for the marathon and half marathon.

Four West Deptford residents pounded out 26.2 miles and crossed the finish line at the Philadelphia Marathon Sunday, while 11 ran the half marathon.

They join 22,482 people in all who completed the marathon and half marathon. The total includes runners, wheelchair racers and hand pedal racers.

The races stepped off Nov. 18 at 7 a.m. Named one of the top courses in the nation, the marathon wound through Philadelphia landmarks along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Fairmount Park, Schuylkill River and Manayunk. Half-marathon runners saw many of the same sights on their 13.1-mile course.
