Updated: 2012 National Night Out at RiverWinds Postponed

The threat of bad weather will delay National Night Out in West Deptford. Originally scheduled for Wednesday night, the annual event hosted by at has been pushed back two weeks.

The event, now scheduled for Aug. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m., is sponsored by the township, the police department and the West Deptford Municipal Alliance, and will have a wide variety of activities, from a K-9 demonstration by the Gloucester County Police K9 Association to fire and EMS displays to activities and giveaways.

National Night Out, which began in 1984, has grown from 2.5 million participants to an estimated 37 million this year.
