Booker, Lonegan Pick Up Gloucester County, State
The two will face off in the October 16 special U.S. Senate election.

New Jersey voters have decided: Democrat Cory Booker and Republican Steve Lonegan will meet in the October 16 special senatorial election.
Just two months away, the contest will decide which of them fills the seat of U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg, who died in June at 89.
In Gloucester County, 11,749 voters hit the polls on Tuesday, a paltry 5.46 percent of the 192,563 registered voters in the county; of them, 1,230 cast their ballots by mail.
Slightly more than 8 percent of the 37,127 registered Republicans in the county turned up at the polls Tuesday (3,040 voters). Nearly 11 percent (7,479 voters) of all registered Democrats in the county (68,779) did as well.
Among Republicans, Lonegan carried 79 percent of the vote (2,789); Booker controlled 63 percent of all Democratic votes (5,210).
