Caitlin Fenning Selected for All-American Marching Band

The West Deptford color guard member will perform at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX, in January.

 

There are only 125 members in the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.

This year, one of them will be from West Deptford.

Caitlin Fenning, a color guard member in the Eagles’ was selected for the elite band, which performs at the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl, an annual showcase of some of the best high school football players in the country, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.

“The skills and strengths necessary to be a successful band member are mirrored in Army Strong Soldiers,” John Myers, director of marketing for the Army Marketing and Research Group said in a release. “Only the strongest wear the Army colors, which is why we are proud to honor all of our 2013 U.S. Army All-American Band members and congratulate each of them on their selection.”

Fenning will take the field at halftime for the game, which will be televised live on NBC at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.

A formal announcement of Fenning’s selection is scheduled for next Friday at the high school.
