Ex-Philadelphia Eagle Bartends For A Cause In South Jersey

Fletcher Cox partnered with a local restaurant, which put his jersey number on a burger that raised funds for charity.

CLARKSBORO, NJ — Philadelphia Eagles great Fletcher Cox has been giving back to South Jersey and serving up drinks in the process.

Cinder Bar, a Gloucester County restaurant, partnered with Cox to raise money for the Gloucester County K-9 Association. Those efforts included collaboration on the "91 Smash Burger," a limited-time menu item alluding to the six-time Pro Bowler's former jersey number.

Cox, a Mullica Hill resident, also made a special appearance in February as guest bartender at Cinder Bar's Clarksboro location.

In a promotional video, Cox said restaurant ownership approached him about partnering for a charitable cause.

As a result, Cinder Bar created the 91 Smash Burger, which featured beef from Cox's Texas ranch topped with Vermont cheddar, house sauce, arugula and lemon oreganata oil on a grilled brioche bun.

For a three-month period, each burger generated $3 for the Gloucester County K-9 Association, which helps police departments replace retired dogs and assists families of fallen officers and fallen K-9s. With 3,400 burgers sold, the partnership raised more than $10,000, according to Cinder Bar.

Cox played all 12 of his NFL seasons with the Eagles, retiring after the 2023 season. The defensive tackle was a four-time All-Pro who recorded 70 career sacks and helped the Eagles win their first Super Bowl title in 2018.

Cinder Bar has restaurants in Clarksboro and Williamstown.
