Fatal Shooting Near Rowan University Claims 22-Year-Old: Prosecutor
While the investigation is ongoing, there's no risk to the local community or university, authorities said.
GLASSBORO, NJ - A shooting at a residence near Rowan University on Friday resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man, authorities said.
Shortly after 1 a.m., Glassboro police officers responded to the 200 block of University Boulevard for a report of gunshots, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
At the scene, police cleared several occupants from the home and found a deceased man in a bedroom on the second floor, police said. The deceased was later identified as 22-year-old Travon A. Barker-Bordley of Glassboro.

An autopsy later ruled the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death as a homicide.
“While the investigation remains ongoing, there is no ongoing risk to the local community,” the prosecutor’s office said. “Additionally, it should be noted that this incident did not impact, nor occur at, Rowan University.”
