Host team Glassboro exploded for 12 runs in the third and fourth innings to eliminate Acadian Little League from Bar Harbor, ME, 13-2, at the Senior League Baseball East Regional on Sunday. The game was halted in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.

Tommy Villec went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored and Dom D'Alessandro went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI to pace Glassboro, the local district champions. Glassboro will face Caroline North, MD in another elimination game at 11:30 am Monday.

The win was Glassboro's first in regional history. They had previously appeared in the regional in 2008, going 0-2. It also marked the fourth consecutive year that the host district champ has won at least one game in the regional.

Kennett Square, PA 6, Naamans, DE 2

Jake Freeman, the No. 9 hitter in KAU's lineup, smacked a two-run double to the wall in left to spark a five-run, two-out rally and lead the team from Kennett Square, PA to a 6-2 win over Naamans Little League of Wilmington, DE on Sunday night at the Senior League Baseball East Regional.

Freeman's 320-foot double tied the game and began the two-out rally in the fourth. It was the second straight game with a big two-out rally for the Pennsylvania champs. On Saturday, KAU needed a six-run, two-out rally in the seventh to beat Allegany, NY and earn a spot in Sunday's game.

Freeman's double scored Andrew Jones, who finished 3-for-3, and Eric Takoushianss. Alex Peching followed with a two-run single and then scored on Eric Duerr's RBI double.

Ryan Barrett earned the win in relief for KAU, not allowing a run over the final four innings. He scattered two hits and three walks, while striking out six.

Naamans had taken a 2-0 lead in the third on an RBI double by Brannon McHugh and an RBI single by Kevin LaPlante.

KAU will face Quincy, MA in the winner's bracket final Tuesday at 10 a.m. Naamans will face either Glassboro, NJ or Caroline North, MD in an elimination game Monday at 5 pm.

Quincy, MA 6, Johnston, RI 1

Quincy, MA scored five runs without a hit in the top of the first and a strong pitching performance by Aaron Clancy made it stand up as the Massachusetts champs defeated Johnston, RI, 6-1, in a winner's bracket game Sunday evening at the 2013 Senior League Baseball East Regional.

Clancy allowed three hits while walking four and striking out five in 6-1/3 innings of work. Clancy threw 97 pitches before hitting the pitch maximum, 58 of them for strikes.

Quincy will face the winner of Sunday's final game between Naamans Little League of Wilmington, DE and KAU from Kennett Square, PA. That winner's bracket game will be played Tuesday at 10 am.

Johnston will play in an elimination game Monday at 7:30 pm.

Three walks, two hit batters and a pair of errors led to the five-run first inning. Johnston got a run back in the bottom of the first on an RBI fielder's choice by Korey Fijal. But that would be the only run Clancy allowed on the day.

Allegany County, NY 7, Bristol, CT 1

Allegany County, NY jumped out to a 7-1 lead through the first four frames then held off a late rally to eliminate Edgewood Little League from Bristol, CT, 10-7, in Sunday afternoon action at the Senior League Baseball East Regional.

Edgewood made things interesting when it scored three times in the fifth to cut the deficit to 7-4. Allegany County, which is made up of Wellsville, Bolivar and Fillmore Little Leagues, responded with two in the sixth, but Edgewood had another three spot in the bottom half of the frame to make it 9-7.

After Allegany County tacked on a run on in the top of the seventh, Edgewood got runners on the corners with one out. Hunter Kane coaxed Jessie Caron into a pop up to right for the second out. Allegany County then brought Brett Miglore back to the mound to try to save Kane's eligibility for tomorrow. Without throwing another pitch, Miglore recorded the save by picking the runner off of first base for the final out of the game.

Gary Burdick, who earned the win in 2-1/3 innings of work, was 2-for-3 with a double at the plate for Allegany County, who will face Buena, NJ in another elimination game Monday at 2 pm. C.J. Pierce and Cole Tracy each drove in a pair for the winners.

Edgewood, which was hurt by eight errors on the day, got two-run hits from Joe Dorsio and Joe Pastymak to pace the offense.
