Gloucester County Girls Score Big at State Gymnastics Meet

The Rainbow Gymnastics Level 4 girls—including three girls from West Deptford—scored a top-10 finish at states at the end of February, with many girls scoring their highest in All-Around for the year, as the team took home numerous medals against top competition in New Jersey.

Led by coaches Kristin Mogck and Danielle Martiello, the girls from the Sewell-based gym took on 45 other gyms from around the state at the USA Gymnastics state championships in Hamilton, and the gymnasts brought home multiple medals in all four events, including a first place in Floor Exercise and several top-10s in All-Around.

Here’s how they finished:

Madison Scambia, a 7-year-old from Westville, earned fourth place on Vault (9.425), third place on Bars (9.575), sixth place on Beam (9.45) and first place on Floor (9.775), giving her a total All-Around score of 38.225 points. She finished third overall in the senior 7-year-old group.

Julianna Guzzardo, an 8-year-old from Mullica Hill, earned 20th place on Vault (9.05), ninth place on Bars (9.075), 14th place on Beam (8.85) and 20th place on Floor (9.0), giving her a total All-Around score of 35.975 points. She finished 12th overall in the Mid 8-year-old group.

Kathryn Floyd, an 8-year-old from Swedesboro, earned 22nd place on Vault (9.05), 19th place on Bars (8.85), 20th place on Beam (8.75) and 14th place on Floor (9.175), giving her a total All-Around score of 35.825 points. She finished 15th overall in the Mid 8-year-old group.

Mikaela Ferrara, a 9-year-old from West Deptford, earned 10th place on Vault (9.325), second place on Bars (9.6), 6th Place on Beam (9.45) and third place on Floor (9.625), giving her a total All-Around score of 38 points. She finished third overall in the Junior 9-year-old group.

Sarah Wilder, a 9-year-old from West Deptford, earned 16th place on Vault (9.175), 23rd place on Bars (8.85), 16th place on Beam (8.85) and 25th place on Floor (8.8), giving her a total All-Around score of 35.675 points. She finished 19th overall in the Junior 9-year-old group.

Jordyn Dolan, a 9-year-old from West Deptford, earned 13th place on Vault (9.1), third Place on Bars (9.0), sixth place on Beam (9.15) and second Place on Floor (9.475), giving her a total All-Around score of 36.725 points. She finished fourth overall in the Senior 9-year-old group.

Kaitlyn Cooper, a 10-year-old from Deptford, earned 15th place on Vault (8.95), 18th place on Bars (8.3), 18th place on Beam (8.25) and 10th place on Floor (8.875), giving her a total All-Around score of 34.375 points. She finished 16th overall in the 10-year-old group.
