Mullica Hill Warehouse Discussion Postponed As Residents Pack Meeting
Residents of Mullica Hill showed up en masse to ask officials not to approve a 2 million-square-foot warehouse and distribution center.
HARRISON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Officials rescheduled a meeting on a massive proposed warehouse in Mullica Hill after residents packed the room Thursday evening to oppose it.
Local media and neighbor reports said the Harrison Township Joint Land Use Board meeting was too full for the meeting to safely continue.
The proposed King’s Landing Redevelopment Plan would be a four-building complex that is more than 2 million square feet, with 1,400 parking spaces.

"We had more people packed in that could hold with even more outside," said Clint Guest, one of the residents mobilizing against the planned warehouse.

As proposed, the development would cross both sides of U.S. 322 (Swedesboro Road) and run along Tomlin Station Road (County Road 607), in what's now empty land in Harrison and Woolwich townships.
Developers say it's a prime spot for trucks to access the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 322. Some neighbors are staunchly opposed to the project, bringing up traffic, crime, pollution, and neighborhood quality issues. Neighbors who spoke with Patch also said the township did not give them adequate notice.
The Casella Farms Homeowners Association has filed a civil complaint in Gloucester County Superior Court against Mayor Lou Manzo and the Harrison Township committee, as well.
The next meeting of the Joint Land Use Board (JLUB) is Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley School.
