NJ Mother Fatally Stabbed Baby To Fulfill Last Sin: Reports
Kristhie I. Alcazar, 26, said she killed her child to fulfill the last of her sins: murder, according to published reports.
SALEM COUNTY, NJ — A South Jersey mother who is charged with killing her baby reportedly did so to “fulfill the last of her sins: murder.”
Kristhie I. Alcazar, 26 of Penns Grove, has been arrested and faces murder charges in the death of her 5-month-old daughter, according to the Salem County Prosecutor's Office.
In an interview with detectives, Alcazar showed no remorse when telling them she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the alleged stabbing, nj.com reports.

Her first court appearance was on Monday, and a detention hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, according to The New York Post. She faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
Penns Grove police responded to a 911 call at the home late Friday night. Upon arrival, they found the deceased baby who had visible stab wounds, and Alcazar and another person arguing, according to prosecutors. Read more here: NJ Mom Charged In Baby Daughter's Fatal Stabbing: Prosecutors

"The infant's cause of death has been determined to be homicide as a result of multiple stab wounds to the chest area," prosecutors said in a news release.
No one else was injured, and multiple knives and additional evidence were recovered at the scene, according to the prosecutor’s office. The child’s father wasn’t home at the time of the incident.
“I lived next to her for two and a half years, so it's a shock to me,” neighbor Arthur Edge told 6 ABC.
“She seemed like such a good mom, but they said she had postpartum, and I have no idea what that’s like, so I can’t judge,” another neighbor told CBS 3.
