Quincy, MA, Kennett Square, PA in Eastern Regional Final

Quincy survived two games Tuesday to gain a berth in the championship.

Ethan Yau hurled six stellar innings and David Suslowicz came on to record the save as Quincy, MA bounced back to earn a spot in the regional final with a 4-2 win over Naamans Little League of Wilmington, DE at the Senior League Baseball East Regional on Tuesday night. 

Quincy, MA will get a rematch with KAU Little League from Kennett Square, PA on Wednesday at 11 a.m. KAU beat Quincy, 8-0, on Tuesday morning to stay unbeaten in the regional. Quincy will have to win twice on Wednesday. The survivor will earn a trip the Senior League World Series in Bangor, ME beginning Sunday.

Yau allowed five hits and one walk while striking out five. Suslowicz had a 1-2-3 seventh with a pair of strikeouts. 

Patrick Keohane went 3-for-3 and Sean Holleran went 2-for-3 to account for five of Quincy's eight hits.

Tyler Beach and Aaron Clancy each drove in runs in the third to give Quincy a 2-0 lead. Single runs in the third fourth and fifth made it 4-0 before Naamans got on the board in the sixth with Richie Windon's two-run double. 

Graham Haines pitched four shutout innings for Naamans, allowing just three hits and keeping the Delaware champs within striking distance. 

Naamans, DE 8, Johnston, RI 4

Kevin LaPlante went 2-for-4 at the plate and hurled 6-1/3 innings on the hill as Naamans Little League of Wilmington, DE eliminated Johnston, RI, 8-4, Tuesday afternoon at the Senior League Baseball East Regional.

LaPlante allowed six hits and walked three while striking out six, and Naamans broke a 1-1 tie with a three-spot in the fourth. Brannon McHugh and Carl Ramsey both had RBI singles in the inning. 

Johnston responded for two runs in the fourth on a two-run double by John Willette. Willette went 2-for-4 in the game. 

With LaPlante struggling Naamans turned to Graham Haines, who coaxed the final out with one pitch. LaPlante later returned to the mound to record three more outs before hitting the pitch count maximum of 95. Richie Windon recorded the final out. 

Kennett Square, PA 8, Quincy, MA 0

Andrew Jones fired a one-hitter as KAU Little League of Kennett Square, PA advanced to the championship round at the Senior League Baseball East Regional with a convincing 8-0 win over Quincy, MA. 

Jones threw just 81 pitches, allowing only a first inning single to Patrick Keohane and a walk to Aaron Clancy in the fourth. But he managed to pick both of them off of first base. On the day, he faced one more than the minimum. 

KAU scored a run in the first on a wild pitch and added four more in the second to five Jones more than enough support. Eric Duerr went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored while Tucker Reese went 2-for-2 with three RBIs. 

KAU advances to the championship round on Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m.
