Representatives from Daktronics presented the Ron Case National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup to Rowan College of South Jersey–Gloucester campus Roadrunners in recognition of overall program excellence in two-year college athletics.

The on-court presentation took place Thursday, January 8, 2026, during halftime of the women’s basketball contest between the RCSJ–Gloucester Roadrunners and the RCSJ–Cumberland Dukes, at 5 p.m. in the RCSJ–Gloucester Campus Gymnasium.

RCSJ–Gloucester Roadrunner Athletics has once again earned national recognition, being selected as the top overall non-scholarship athletic program in the country by NATYCAA. The Roadrunners were named the 2024–25 Daktronics Cup Champion, now officially titled the Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics, honoring excellence across all sports in the NJCAA Non-Scholarship Division.

This marks the eighth time RCSJ–Gloucester has captured this prestigious national award. During the 2024–25 academic year, 12 of the Roadrunners’ 16 teams advanced to their respective National Championship tournaments, highlighted by the Baseball team’s national championship title.

The athletic program, led by director of athletics Brian Rowan and assistant director of athletics Rich Cooper, was formally recognized earlier this year at the NACDA Convention held at the World Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida.

“This is once again a testament to the hard work of our coaches and athletes, as well as the tremendous support we receive from college administration, our Board of Trustees, and the entire campus community,” said Rowan. “This is our eighth time winning this prestigious award, and we are especially honored that the Cup is now named after former RCSJ athletic director Ron Case.”

The Ron Case Cup scoring system allows colleges to count their top five finishes per gender at the highest level of competition, with national champions earning 20 points, second place 19 points, third place 18 points, and so on. The award is sponsored by Daktronics in conjunction with NATYCAA, marking the fifth year of Daktronics’ sponsorship.

NATYCAA recently announced the renaming of the Daktronics Cup to honor Ron Case, who served as NATYCAA president from 1999–2000 and was director of athletics at Rowan College at Gloucester County for 25 years. Case guided the Cup program from its inception in 2004 through June 2024.
