School Officer Brutalized Handcuffed Child In Gloucester Co., Faces Indictment: Prosecutor

The officer 'forcefully' pushed a handcuffed juvenile's neck, face and chest onto a table, authorities said.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A man was indicted for harming a handcuffed juvenile while working as a school resource officer in Gloucester County, authorities said.

Charles P. Rudolph, 51, of Franklinville, served as a school officer while working for the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office. In December 2024, he "forcefully" pushed a juvenile's neck, face and chest onto a table while the minor was handcuffed, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors didn't disclose the school where he was working.

Rudolph was charged by indictment Wednesday with second-degree official misconduct and second-degree endangerment, abuse or neglect of a child.

His listed attorney didn't immediately return comment to Patch.
