Philly Special: South Jersey Caterer Makes Eagles-Themed Menu

Fancying a Jalen Hurts sandwich, Brandon Graham salad or Nick Sirianni wings? A local business will serve them on gameday this weekend.

GIBBSTOWN, NJ — Fancying a Jalen Hurts sandwich, Brandon Graham salad or Nick Sirianni wings? A South Jersey caterer created an Eagles-themed menu, with items named after members of the currently undefeated team.

The Community Plate Catering created the menu for a special sandwich sale, which runs from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Broad & Maple (453 W Broad St., Gibbstown). The Eagles face the Rams at 4:05 p.m. that day.

Based in South Jersey, The Community Plate specializes in customized catering. The business, which doesn't have a brick-and-mortar location, typically holds a sandwich sale each October.

The sandwich menu, for instance, features the Jason Kelce: a chicken cutlet with vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, smoked cheddar and vodka pasta.

In the mood for a salad? There are three options, including the Jordan Mailata: romaine lettuce, shredded parmesan, chopped salami, pepperoncini and Caesar dressing.

Small plates include Sirianni wings, Darius Slay buffalo chicken dip, and DeVonta Smith chili.

This Philly Special will only last a day, but the sandwiches will remain available upon request for catering.

The Community Plate took in online pre-orders for several weeks — the best way for customers to ensure they get the menu item(s) they want. The deadline passed Thursday, but patrons can still order items for dine-in or pickup during the sale, while they remain available.

Cutlets have been selling fast, according to Christina Casella Harris, chef and owner of The Community Plate. The top seller has been the Jalen Hurts — a chicken cutler with roasted cherry pepper spread, broccoli rabe and sharp provolone.
