Child Porn Found At West Deptford Man's Home; Tech Advancements Cracked Case: Prosecutor

New technology allowed detectives to access an electronic device they seized after searching his home a year ago, authorities said.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — Authorities searched a West Deptford man's home last year for suspected child porn and seized an electronic device. He was finally charged last month, after advancements in technology allowed detectives to examine it for the explicit material, officials said.

Addison Hennequant, 28, was charged July 18 with second-degree possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials. The charge was filed nearly a year after law enforcement searched his home.

Last year, detectives traced "media accounts" containing child pornography back to Hennequant's home, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Law enforcement executed a search warrant there on Aug. 9, finding multiple electronic devices belonging to Hennequant, authorities said.

One device had the same make and model that was linked to the suspicious accounts, prosecutors said. But at that time, detectives couldn't access its files.

Advancements in technology allowed detectives to complete a forensic examination in May, when they found child pornography on the device, authorities said.

Hennequant was charged two months later. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Sept. 11 for a pre-indictment conference.

Hennequant's listed attorney did not immediately respond to Patch.
