The fights follow several incidents at New Jersey malls that resulted in public disturbances, fights, injuries, and arrests.
On May 24, more than 500 teens went to Woodbridge Center mall and the carnival in the mall parking lot. Previously, on May 17, seven juveniles were arrested following a large-scale disturbance at Menlo Park Mall.
Following those two events, rumors that a large-scale pop-up gathering could come to the Bridgewater Commons Mall prompted police to issue a Temporary Youth Supervision Policy on May 31.
