New 2-Story Retail/Office Building To Replace Westfield Corner Property
The Westfield Planning Board approved the application at its May 2 meeting.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A new 2,300-square-foot, two-story commercial building is coming to Westfield.
The Planning Board approved an application for the corner property at 201 Central Avenue at its May 2 meeting.
The proposed building will replace an existing two-story commercial building that had a partial collapse, according to the application.

The variances that were being sought were because the new building will use the existing foundation and exacerbates existing nonconformities. There will be no detrimental impact to the surrounding properties, according to the application.
The new building will consist of retail space on the first floor and office space on the second floor.
