Police said initial reports indicated that the overturned vehicle’s driver fell out of the car, but this did not occur. He apparently was able to remove himself, police said.
When police arrived at the crash, two vehicles were heavily damaged — one disabled at the intersection and another nearby was overturned and up against a house on the 400 block of Edgewood Avenue.
Police said the car flipped over after hitting the concrete front steps of the house.
Guzman was rushed to University Hospital in Newark with a head injury following the crash, police said. His injury does not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
Three people in the other vehicle involved were also sent to an area hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
