97% of Westfield High School Graduates Continuing Education
A total of 97 percent of the Westfield High School (WHS) graduates of 2015 are pursuing a higher education this fall.

A total of 97 percent of the Westfield High School (WHS) graduates of 2015 are pursuing a higher education this fall.
According to a report released by the WHS Office of Counseling Services, 429 students are continuing their education with 89% attending four-year colleges and universities, 6.7% attending two-year colleges, and 1.1% entering vocational, business and other post high school institutions. The remaining graduates have entered the work force, are taking a year off, or had future plans that were undecided.

The class of 2015 – having earned an impressive 100% graduation rate -- is attending a significant list of 178 colleges and universities in more than 30 states. Six graduates are studying outside of the United States -- in Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Scotland, and Ireland.
Six of the eight Ivy League universities are represented, including: Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The most popular out-of-state colleges and universities selected by this year’s graduates include: Pennsylvania State University (13 students); University of Maryland (11); University of Pittsburgh (9); Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (9); University of Delaware (8); Syracuse University (7); Lehigh University (6); and University of South Carolina (6).
A total of 104 WHS graduates are continuing their education in New Jersey, with 77 attending four-year colleges and universities and 27 entering two-year colleges.
The most widely attended 4-year New Jersey school is Rutgers University with 18 WHS graduates, followed by The College of New Jersey where 11 grads are enrolled.
Looking at two-year secondary institutions, Union County College welcomed 24 WHS graduates this fall.
