Are You in Favor of a "One-Seat" Ride from Westfield to NYC?

The Raritan Valley Coalition is hosting a presentation on the one-seat ride into Manhattan on the NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 10. The meeting, originally slated to be held on May 20, was rescheduled it was announced yesterday. 

The opportunity for a one-seat ride into Manhattan from Westfield may be possible now that NJ Transit has acquired dual-powered trains that can operate directly into the tunnels.

The RVC has offered their ideas of the benefits of the one-seat ride, but we want to know what you think! Tell us in the comments, are you in favor of a one seat ride?

    • NJ TRANSIT has acquired and is testing 36 new dual powered locomotives, which can allow diesel-only lines like Raritan Valley, to operate one-seat service to Manhattan

  • RVC wants NJ TRANSIT to commit to deploying use of dual-powered locomotives on the Raritan Valley Line to provide a one-seat ride into Manhattan

    • The information session will be held on June 10 at 9 a.m. at the Westfield Municipal Building.
