Downed Trees In Overhead Wires Suspends Morris & Essex, Gladstone Trains
Riders in Somerset, Morris, and Union counties are being impacted by the downed trees on Friday.

SUMMIT, NJ — Downed trees in the overhead wires near Summit have caused the Morris and Essex Line and Gladstone Branch trains to be suspended on Friday, NJ Transit announced.
Rail service is currently suspended on the Morris and Essex Line between Hackettstown and Summit and the Gladstone Branch between Gladstone and Summit including Midtown Direct service, said NJ Transit around 9:35 a.m.
Limited rail service will operate between Summit and Hoboken. Montclair-Boonton Midtown Direct is running.

Riders are asked to use the Montclair-Boonton Line for service to Hackettstown.
NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are also being cross-honored by NJ Transit bus and private carriers and PATH at Newark Penn, Hoboken and 33rd Street-NY.

A tornado watch has been issued to 17 counties in New Jersey including Somerset, Union and Morris Counties until 2 p.m.
