Residents can expect hot temperatures and high humidity on Wednesday in Union County.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A heat advisory has been issued for Union County as hot temperatures and high humidity are expected on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service(NWS) issued a heat advisory from 11 a.m. on Wednesday through 8 p.m.

Heat index values up to 104 are expected.

The NWS warns that hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

  • stay in an air-conditioned room
  • stay out of the sun
  • check up on relatives and neighbors
  • Take extra precautions when outside
  • Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing
  • Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening
  • Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
