How Much Rain Fell In Union County? See the Latest Totals

UNION COUNTY, NJ — The remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia soaked some sections of Union County over the weekend with more in store for the week in the form of potential showers.

Mountainside got the brunt of it with observers reporting more than 2.6 inches of rain fell over the weekend.

Here's how much rain fell in Union County over the past 72 hours, according to the National Weather Service:

• Mountainside - 2.64 inches
• Westfield - 2.55 inches
• Clark - 2.53 inches
• Cranford - 2.48 inches
• Union - 2.36 inches
• Newark Airport - 2.23 inches
• Linden Airport - 1.39 inches
• Roselle Park - 1.04 inches

The wet weather is expected to continue throughout the week with rain in the forecast.

Monday: Rain. Widespread fog. High near 61. Northeast wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night: A 50 percent chance of rain. Widespread fog before 9 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 54. Northeast wind around 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 62. Northeast wind around 14 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. Northeast wind around 9 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 66.

Thursday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
