Intruder Walks Into Sleeping Woman's Home In Westfield: Police

Police said an elderly man entered the woman's home and shined a flashlight on her while she was sleeping.

WESTFIELD, NJ — An intruder broke into a woman's home in Westfield on Friday and pointed a flashlight at her while she was sleeping on the couch, according to the most recent Westfield police blotter.

The incident occurred at around 3:26 a.m. when an elderly, slim man with a thin mustache walked into the woman's home on the 100 block of Livingston Street, police said.

The man exited through the front door when the woman dialed 911, according to police.

Sgt. Michael Walsh told Patch that the man possibly entered through an unlocked front door. Walsh said no items from the home are reported missing at this time.

The incident is actively being investigated by the Westfield Detective Bureau, Walsh said.
