Man Sought In Rahway Home Sex Assault Case, Police Say

RAHWAY, NJ - Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in connection with a sex assault that took place inside a Rahway home Thursday.

At around 11 a.m. on Aug. 10, Rahway police responded to a home near the 2000 block of Elizabeth Avenue for a report of a suspicious event, police said.

An investigation later found that a sexual assault took place at the home, police said. A man with dark brown curly hair and tattoos on both forearms is a person of interest, and Rahway police are seeking tips from locals regarding the person’s identity and whereabouts.

It was not immediately clear if the man lived in the home or knew the victim.

The person of interest is described as a white man in his early 20s, five-feet-eight-inches and weighing around 160 pounds, police said. The man was last seen wearing a dark-colored tank top, dark-colored shorts, white sneakers and possibly carrying a dark-colored backpack labeled “New York.”
