Nick Gordon Could Face Criminal Charges in Death of Bobbi Kristina Brown: Report
Nick Gordon, the former boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, could face criminal charges related to her death.
Nick Gordon, the former boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, could face criminal charges related to the incident surrounding her death.
Entertainment Tonight reports the district attorney is assembling a grand jury in Georgia that will review the case against Gordon. They also quoted a source close to the case in saying,
“The district attorney is asking for some witness to be re-interviewed and will take it before the grand jury at a later date.”

However, according to their source, the district attorney will not specify who those witnesses are. Gordon currently faces a $10 million lawsuit filed by Brown’s conservator in which claims are made that he physically assaulted Brown and stole thousands of dollars from her.
People Magazine reports the district attorney’s office said, “The case remains open and under investigation.”

Their source says the grand jury possible have a decision this week on whether or not Gordon will face charges due to Brown’s death.
The Incident
On Jan. 31, Brown was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home. She remained in a comatose state until she died in hospice care on July 26.
Her mother, Whitney Houston, suffered an eerily similar fate in a Beverly Hills hotel bathroom in 2012. The pop-singer was 48-years-old at the time of her death.
After a funeral service was held in Atlanta, Ga., Brown’s body was flown into New Jersey and buried next to her mother on Aug. 3.
Brown’s family feels Gordon is to blame for her untimely death and her estate has since filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him, according to US Magazine.
The lawsuit, filed on June 24 by Bobbi Kristina’s co-conservator Bedelia Hargrove, accuses Gordon of giving Brown a “toxic cocktail” that left her “unconscious.”
Reports say the lawsuit goes on to accuse Gordon of putting “her face-down in a tub of cold water, causing her to suffer brain damage.”
The cause of Brown’s ”unnatural-death”, however, is still up in the air as medical examiners say the time span between the incident and her death will make it difficult to determine what actually happened.
“We do not plan to complete the death certificate or determine a cause and manner of death until all test results are completed and all investigative, medical and other documentary records are received and thoroughly reviewed,” the medical examiner said in a statement according to People Magazine.
The suit, which seeks at least $10 million, also makes accusations of theft through the manipulation Brown’s bank accounts and domestic violence, according to CNN.
“This was all part of a scheme to control Bobbi Kristina and benefit from her wealth,” the suit states.
It is unclear whether there is any evidence to support the accusations and, to date, Gordon has not been charged with Brown’s death.
A spokesperson for Gordon’s defense lawyer, Jose Baez, has since called the lawsuit “slanderous and meritless,” according to USA Today.
Baez is the same lawyer who defended Casey Anthony on murder charges in connection with the death of her daughter Caylee in 2013. Anthony was acquitted of the charges.
