Olympic Watch Party: Union County Runner Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone
Locals will cheer on Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone as she competes in the 400m Hurdle on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Stagehouse in Mountainside.

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — Union County locals will gather at a watch party Thursday to cheer on Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, a 2017 graduate of Union Catholic Regional High School, as she races for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
McLaughlin-Levrone easily won her semifinal heat on Tuesday with a sub-53 seconds time. Watch her Semifinal heat here.
She will now face off against Netherlands' Femke Bol on Thursday at 2 p.m.in the 400-meter hurdle finals. McLaughlin-Levrone previously beat Bol at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

McLaughlin-Levrone is the world record holder in this event. She previously took home gold in this event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and holds the Olympic record with a time of 50.65 seconds.
A watch party will be held at the Stage House Tavern in Mountainside to cheer on Sydney as she goes for gold.
