Tour de Westfield Registration Is Now Open

The event also includes a bike parade, bike rodeo, tour de tots, tour de tricks, and more.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Tour de Westfield’s 2nd annual family biking event will be held at the North Side Train Station on Sunday, June 11 at the North Side Train Station from 10 a.m. to noon. The bike parade begins at 11 a.m.

There will be giveaways, competitions with prizes, and DJ entertainment.

This event is sponsored by the Recreation Department & Recreation Commission in collaboration with the Westfield Police Department, Bike Board, Downtown Westfield Corporation, Green Team, BRAKES Coalition & Jay's Cycle.

Participants must register for the Tour de Westfield Bike Parade. The first 500 registered participants to arrive at the event will receive a Tour de Westfield Bike Bag on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.

This parade is for bikers only; walkers and strollers will not be permitted on the route to ensure the safety of residents. The event will be capped at 800. Bike helmets must be worn.

Tour de Westfield Bike Parade – 11 a.m.

Bring bikes and helmets and ride along with the Westfield Police Department on a family-friendly 2-mile bike ride. This ride is suitable for anyone that can ride a bike. Registration is required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No walkers, joggers, scooters or strollers for your safety (just bikes).

The activities begin at 10 a.m. and the ride kicks off at 11 a.m. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ride to pick up your fun swag and line up for the ride – the ride will leave the North Side of the Train Station Parking Lot promptly at 11 a.m.

WDP Bike Rodeo – from 10 a.m. – Noon

Learn the elements of bike safety directly from Westfield Police Officers. No registration required.

Tour de Tots – from 10 a.m. – Noon

Westfield's youngest riders will learn ride-safety basics while taking a trip through our obstacle safari - watch out for the lion, zebra and monkeys! Then play Red-light-stop; Green-light-go and finish the course with a bubble party! If you can’t ride a bike yet in the parade but want to participate in the fun, this is the activity for you! Bring your tricycle or scooter to the train station to participate (no bikes).

There will be a limited number of slots for this event. Please be sure to register for a 15-minute time slot. Parents must accompany their child and cannot leave any child unattended.

Tour de Tricks – from 10 a.m. – Noon

Want to learn how to safely jump a curb or watch a wheelie demo up close? If your child is 9 year and older, come join the Tour de Tricks and learn from a few experts. Tricks include Tamaques Track Stands, Franklin Froggies, Jefferson Jumps, the Wilson Wacky Wheel Challenge & Meandering McKinley Slalom. This activity is suitable for children 9 and older. A bike helmet must be worn.

Bling your Bike
Decorate your bike - your imagination is the limit! Our judges will select a winner who will receive a $100 gift certificate to a local business. Make sure you can still ride your bike safely while decorated! Judging will begin promptly at 10:15 a.m. near the DJ Booth at the North Side Train Station – be sure to arrive on time! Price will be distributed after the event.

Largest Group Sign up
Register for the Tour de Westfield Bike Parade under a Team Name. The Team with the largest numbers of registrations that participate in the parade will receive a $150 towards an ice cream or pizza party in town. Winner will be decided at 10:30 a.m. at the DJ Booth. Prize will be distributed after the event. Your whole team must be present and ride in the parade to win!
