Train Strike Kills Pedestrian At Union Station, NJ Transit Says

Transit officials said the pedestrian was hit by a Raritan Valley Line train Wednesday night.

UNION TOWNSHIP, NJ — A New Jersey Transit train fatally struck a pedestrian at the Union Township station Wednesday night, transit officials said.

The incident happened at 10:20 p.m. at the station, according to NJ Transit. The deceased person has not yet been identified. No injuries were reported to the 200 customers or crew on board, a spokesperson added.

The Raritan Valley Line train (#5155) had departed Penn Station in New York City at 9:48 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Raritan at 11:08 p.m., the transit department said.
