Union County Coronavirus Vaccination Site List: New Locations

Four new options have been added in the past week to the state's list of covid-19 vaccination sites for Union County.

This story was updated at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — New Jersey has been steadily expanding its public lists of COVID-19 vaccination sites. Besides registering for an appointment on the state's hub for any of the state's six megasites, the state also has been updating its list of various sites in each county (see the updated Union County list below).

In addition to those locations, residents can try to find an appointment at their own local pharmacy, hospital, medical office, and in some cases, their community's own vaccination site. Some of those sites are also on the state list below, while others have their own websites.

For instance, two weeks ago, the CVS and Rite Aid pharmacy chains announced that some of their locations would have vaccines:

And earlier this month, Atlantic Health opened a vaccination site in Summit (more details are here: New Coronavirus Vaccination Center To Open In Summit).

More information

New Jersey Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites beyond 300. State officials have said the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of the adult population by the spring.

New Jersey has created a county-by-county vaccine hub that reports the number of immunizations across the state.

Presently, the state's sites are vaccinating people in the 1A and 1B groups, including certain essential workers, seniors over 65, and people 16-65 with chronic medical conditions. Find out if you qualify by clicking this link.

The state added a qualifier recently: "Vaccination phases are tentative and subject to change. The movement between vaccination eligibility phases may be fluid. One phase may overlap with another. Not all individuals in each phase will be vaccinated before opening to additional groups, and not all groups within a specific phase will be made eligible to receive the vaccine at the same time."

As of Friday, more than 479,000 Americans had died of the virus. (You can see which states had the highest death toll in the past week on this CDC map.)

Public vaccination sites in Union County (four are new)

Here are the state's currently listed public vaccine sites in Union County. Not all of them have vaccinations available right now, but check their websites at various times. Four are new this week: The two CVS sites, Overlook, and Trinitas.

Most of these sites are currently only vaccinating people 18 and up, so double check before heading over.
