Upcoming American Red Cross Lifeguard Training at the Westfield Area Y
Keep Your Community Water Safe! Open to the Community Age 15+

The Westfield Area YMCA is offering an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course to the community ages 15+ who want to gain the appropriate knowledge, skills, and certification to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. The two-day course is December 28 and 29 from 8:00 am-4:00 pm at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield.
The comprehensive, blended learning course covers safety skills, accident prevention, scanning, guarding techniques, emergency systems, rescue skills, first aid in aquatic environments, spinal injury management, open water dangers, legal responsibilities, and pool maintenance basics.
Trainees are required to pass a physical skills test before attending training course sessions. Registration is available online or at the Main Y Welcome Center.
